Let me tell you a tale of Puppy Pie.
Imagine a cold winter evening in 2019, in a friendly neighborhood. I’m getting ready to walk my precious pooch. I’m bravely shrugging on my coat and scarf and jingling the metal leash to signal to my best friend that it’s time for walkies. He runs excitedly toward me, and in a blink of an eye, we’re outside, weathering the cold together as friends, companions, and equals.
Of course, as soon as the first gust of wind hits, I’m tightening my scarf around my face trying to save my face from freezing off. And that’s when it hits me — we’re not equals. I’m standing there, fashionably warm, while my doggo is freezing his little behind off.
How One Walk Changed Everything
That’s where the idea for Puppy Pie struck me like lightning. I looked at my dog and vowed to him that he’d have a coat and maybe even a pair (well, two) of fashionable boots. No longer would my best friend have to brave the cold with only his fur, no matter how fluffy that fur may be.
Admittedly, my dog seemed unaware of my epiphany at the time. Still, that doesn’t mean he hasn’t profited from it since.
When inspiration struck, it did so because of my overwhelming desire to make my dog’s life easier and more comfortable. To this day, that’s still my number one goal.
